What is rope access?
Rope access is a method of reaching difficult or high-level areas of a structure using ropes, harnesses and industry-standard rigging instead of scaffolding or powered access. Technicians work suspended on two independent ropes — a working line and a back-up line — so the system stays safe even if one component fails.
Is rope access safe?
Yes. Rope access has one of the strongest safety records of any work-at-height method. Every Gekko Tech project is planned with site-specific RAMS and a rescue plan, delivered under IRATA Level 3 supervision, and complies with the Working at Height Regulations 2005 and the IRATA International Code of Practice.
Do you work nationwide?
We do. Our teams are based in the North West and mobilise from Merseyside to sites across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland — including Liverpool, Manchester, London, Cardiff, Dundee, Peterhead, Dublin and Belfast.
What industries do you support?
Construction, energy and utilities, commercial property and facilities management, and industrial infrastructure such as steelwork, tanks, bridges and process plants.
How fast can you respond?
We aim to answer every quote request within one working day. For urgent or reactive works — storm damage, failed sealants, dropped objects — a two-person team can usually be on site within 24 to 48 hours, with 24/7 emergency response available.
Do you provide IRATA Level 3 supervision?
Yes. Every rope access team we deploy is supervised by an IRATA Level 3 technician, who is responsible for rigging, on-site risk management and the rescue plan for the duration of the works.
